so sayaka's always been lowkey fond of mafuyu? even at her worst and least interactive of times, she's had a fondness for the other girl at the very least, though sayaka didn't really get to know her properly until they talked on the network. and boy, did it prove they have some similarities! sayaka honestly couldn't believe that any parent who actually loved their kid would go this far in destroying their self esteem, but mafuyu met sayaka in her most 'girl what the fuck, RUN' state of mind and sayaka decided from that point onward that she wanted to make sure her path was clear.
it took going through yoon's palace to find out who she was, but sayaka definitely understood mafuyu more as the weeks went on; trying to find ways to include her in the cooking process while she can't taste, and trying to make sure the girl could be happy, they were both things sayaka herself chose to do and it went a long way toward sayaka developing a fond protectiveness over the girl. but it also helped sayaka see how strong mafuyu was; that girl had beared the weight of the damn world on her shoulders, and it made her dream of finally resting all the more understandable.
they got closer as they took on palaces together, with both of them always being quick to rush in to help one another, and that kinda just solidified sayaka as wanting to protect mafuyu and her dreams, no matter what form they took. sure, sayaka definitely took some inspiration from mafuyu (she is so tired sometimes. she also curses a bit), and honestly. sayaka does sort of consider mafuyu a sister of sorts. will she ever admit it??? who knows because she sucks at verbing nouns on a good day.
but sayaka adores mafuyu, really, and is so happy on her behalf that she has a wonderful family and boyfriend of her own to love. she is a firm believer in letting mafuyu rest and if anything prevents her from doing so, sayaka will in fact riot.

so sayaka's always had like, a baseline level fondness for argenti; he was a traditional knight in every sense of the word, and his kindness touched a pretty significantly damaged part of her heart when they first met and she was at her most vulnerable. he treated her with so gently and warmly, being willing to get her somewhere to clean up and when the nekyia was revealed, he even took on the burden of slaying shadows at first. sayaka did feel guilty about him taking on her burdens, and it was somewhat of the inspiration behind her sneaking into the nekyia for a few weeks at least.
and then argenti killed fuyu and well. sayaka didn't know how to respond at first.
a lot of her did feel that argenti had jumped the gun a bit in deducing fuyu as a murderer or someone who'd harm them, and for a fair bit, she stepped back to gather her bearings. there was a bit where sayaka was actually afraid of argenti finding out anything about her because she was worried she might suffer the same fate, but...the more sayaka thought about it, the more she saw a man who'd made a mistake who probably at least needed someone normal to talk to. and as someone who's also made a mistake in trying to murder someone, she at least decided that she might as well leave the door open for argenti.
sayaka got a lot of reality checking in the form of palaces and other events, but needless to say, argenti's palace was a giant turning point after all of that development she got from her network post, and she decided one thing: she wanted to save argenti. from himself, from the god of conflict, from all of his pain and hurt. because he deserved to have a better life, or at least realize that he can find acceptance even if he's screwed up. sayaka found a lot of that of her own accord on that post, and if she could give him a bit of that comfort...that'd be what mattered most. she became very openly kind after, because in trying to reach argenti, she discovered a lot about herself.
namely, that she didn't want to run from her past anymore. she wanted to confront it, and if argenti had decided to abandon her that day...well, she would have accept it.
she wasn't expecting such gentle acceptance, and really, it made her all the fonder of him over time. that this kind man who protected her from the start could still be her friend and find himself...well, it did a lot to accelerate her opinions of him, and he mentally became her brother at least a fair bit before she gave the thought voice, and she looked to him as an inspiration as well. though fray may have informed what kind of knight she wanted to be, argenti went a long way toward showing her what a knight should be in her eyes; in a way, she hopes her path will emulate the best of them both.
tl;dr: that is her brother and anyone who messes with that boy will be getting DRK rotation'd into next week. nobody fucks with argenti in this house. sayaka will be Mad

okay, sayaka honestly wasn't sure what to make of this man at first. he scared her a little bit, honestly? mostly intimidating-wise, but sayaka was genuinely enraptured by the story of what kind of knight he was, and that really set the whole stage for this mess to begin. he made her realize she's not nearly as certain as she once was, and it honestly made her more curious about the man. she didn't even expect him to believe her when they ended up talking after their first trip to nekyia, but suffice to say, that kindness also went a long way toward getting sayaka to trust fray outright, though it likely wasn't obvious at first. though it was hesitant; he was so quick to offer his home to her that she also became slightly suspicious, which is a lot of why she still kept something of a distance.
by the time he confronted her for going down into the nekyia alone, she definitely liked him, but she did not trust him very well at all. she was naturally just very wary and unsure of why he was bothering if he wasn't getting something out of it, and then it...hit, really, when he tried to explain that helping people is just what he wants to do, and the way he said it felt so strange and real in a way sayaka didn't expect. it kind of shattered sayaka's whole thought process regarding him, but more than anything, she didn't want for him to worry about her anymore so she was willing to at least play along. though, unbeknownst to her, she had basically latched onto fray at this point as one of the few people she was willing to trust without hesitation, even if she didn't fully understand why yet.
it took the anon conversation and the talk they had on the bench for sayaka to realize what she saw in fray; he finally admitted what he was to her, and while she was a little thrown, she found that it didn't matter that he had lied. because he didn't even have a self of his own; he was simply going off of what he knew, and in a lot of ways, sayaka saw a lot of similarities with her own issues. she at least wanted to stand by and support him for all of the support he'd given her, and he became the first to be trusted with her first name because of it.
it got easier as time went on to grow closer. they fought hard together in battle, sayaka helped him pick some outfits that he liked, they saved his boyfriend and their friends, and it didn't take long for sayaka to realize that she cared about fray a lot, though she couldn't put a name to the sort of friendship they had until after kirumi's palace; fray was the closest thing to family that she had ever had, and it made her all the more solid on the path she wanted to take in life. she wanted to be just like her big brother(s, as she'd eventually find out); a knight that could protect people and get close to them, in a genuine sense rather than the fake, sugary veneer of the idol world.
of course, this adoration does have it's moments of being a double-edged sword; she had a hard time bringing herself to fight fray when it was his turn on the palace wild ride, but eventually sayaka found her determination and saw him returned to them, and she wants nothing more than to make sure his path forward will be a pleasant one.
tl;dr: sayaka loves her big brother dammit. that is HER stray cat that she social linked and so help her if anyone tries to hurt him she WILL knock them out. but fray's genuinely someone she's glad to have helped find himself, while also being an inspiration in terms of kindness and chivalry. he inspired her path forward, and she wants nothing more than to make him proud of her.
